To make your entry and exit from Bali hassle free, remember these requirements:
You must have minimum 6 months validity on your passport to enter Bali.
Arrivals – For Australian Passport holders a 30 day Tourist Visa on Arrival is now for FREE. Please refer to the Indonesian Consulate in your country to see details for other passport holders.
Departures – Security will try to convince you to wrap your luggage in plastic however this is not necessary if you do not wish to. As of March 1st 2015 the Passenger Services Fees ( formally 200 000 Rupiah commonly referred to as Departure Tax) are now including in your ticket price.
Make sure you also have a printed copy of your itinerary for presentation and smooth entry into the air port and check in counters.
Remove all liquids from your carry on luggage which are over 100ml. If under 100ml place into clear zip lock bag at the security check in.
If asked if you have left over, opened Duty Free Alcohol in your check in luggage politely and firmly say no.
Into Bali (Per Adult)
You are allowed to bring in 1 litre of alcohol and 200 cigarettes.
I suggest you purchase prior to leaving Australia as there is no duty free available on arrival in the Bali airport.
Into Australia (Per Adult)
You are allowed to bring in up a total of 2,250ml of alcohol and 25 cigarettes total or 25g of loose tobacco or cigars. The tobacco allowance was changed on 1st July 2017.
You can purchase this before you get on the plane in Bali or after you get off it in Australia. While the prices are cheaper in Bali, they have a smaller range. Alternatively Australian duty free stores have a better range but are more expensive.
You are also allowed up to AUD900 worth of personal goods (AUD450 for minors).
