I kind of, not really, but maybe thought I would want to do this, however when I saw it I just couldn’t. Hahahaha yes call me a chicken. Roc looked at it first and said no thanks then I dared him for 1 million Rup and he was up for it. It costs only 80 000 rup and you get an icy cold water for your tension induced dry mouth at the end. It’s located on Nusa Ceningan and there is a lovely view and infinity pool at the restaurant there to enjoy a few drinks or dinner. Follow the signs to The Abyss Zip Lining for a few seconds of dare devil fun across giant waves crashing onto deadly rocks way, way, wayyy below.
So we hunted down this new little gadget called the Fidget Spinner and haggled hard ( well as you know I’m not great at bartering ) and got them for 50 000 rup. We went in a mission through the Sanur And Sindhu Markets. I think you could go lower the more you buy and a little higher if they have lights on them. All the rage with primary aged kids and my boys LOVE them.
So once again after some late night scrolling through Instagram, I came across this little gem which was just perfect for what I was after. I read mostly positive reviews across several pages and asked a few of you for your opinions which were again mostly positive, so booked a little three night getaway for a friends 40th. Its weird how spookily the internet knows what I have been looking up as I was sent an email offer via Booking.com too good to be true, for the Pool View Room, I had been umming and arhhhhing about, for just $63 per a night, Boom !!! Booked that immediately and started to get worried about some comments of itchiness and lumpy beds as my stay loomed near.
So Centra Taum is about 3 years old I believe ( I could of just made that up) and is in the heart of all the best shopping and dining out options Bali has to offer. Its on the little road which tucks in behind Ultimo and cuts through to Jl Petitenget near Villa Lumbung if anyone knows the area and I think the road is called Jl Beraban. With a modest little entrance and reception area I was greeted with those warm friendly smiles and terribly sweet orange welcome drinks we all kind of love ( not really but hey we have just arrived in Bali) and was mesmorised by the beauty of the lovely pool below. I was ushered to my room and should of taken a little more notice of the route as it was slighly tricky finding my way back after a few afternoon and dinner vinos.
The room its self was lovely and spacious, bed and linen very clean and incredibly comfy, the air con worked and the bathroom as clean as possible ( some staining in the stone and non slip surfaces which is common in Bali, but not anything I would be bothered with) .
I didnt eat at the hotel as there are so many other fantastic options around the island, however the restaurant is poolside and looked lovely. The pool gets the mid morning through until mid afternoon sun so was lovely for baking or swimming, I really should of made more use of this during my stay.
As with many hotels in Bali it does need a little maintenance however if its just a base and beautiful pool you are wanting then this may just be the spot for you. I would definately go back and perhaps the pool view rooms on level 1 might be my pick or I think perhaps Room 101 is a 3 bedroom Apartment which may be perfect for families or groups travelling as it is opens on directly to the pool.

Hey everyone some of the most frequently asked queries are around travelling to Bali with little ones. I have loads of tips with what to pack listed in the Packing for babies and toddlers section of my app also, however I found the Baby Bjorn carrier sensational for keeping my hands free when my boys where little, and also a really light weight collapsible stroller with sun shade was the best to use getting in and out of taxis and also for at cafes and restaurants so my bubbies could nap in the shade. I found them really useful for the airport also as you can on most flights carry them up to the plane door then fold them to put in the cargo hold. In many tourist area the foot paths have improved so much since my boys were little so that’s also a bonus.
