After walking the Campuan Ridge we decided to check out the new Jungle Fish Restaurant in Ubud. Set on the hillside with this stunning view this classy new place boasts a delicious and eclectic menu. We enjoyed the Pink Panther ( dragonfruit smoothie), choc shakes, Squid, Meatballs, Nuggets and a great fish, fennel and cous cous lunch. We completed the meal with creamy cold icecream and hot chocolate lava cake. You can choose to dine up on the balcony or chill poolside with a more casual bar snack menu. You do need to pay to swim and lounge by the pool bar and your kids will need to be supevised however are more than welcome, with a great kids menu as well. A stunning new place for lunch if you are in Ubud. xxx
Located just behind the bustling top end of Seminyak in the rice paddies of Umalas is the brand new delishious Susheria. The menu reads a little bit quirky with an innovative blend of creations mixing more tradiitional japanese style cuisine with little mexican twists. Yes I can see your faces now ( much like my husbands) but trust me when the food is served and you get it in your mouth ! you really will thank me ! with all the freshness of avocado, salmon, tuna, mango, salads and soooo much more combined with a little bit of corn chip crunch or spicy mexican sauces you will be just as in love as I am. Be sure to check it out open for Lunch and Dinner ! Just added to the ‘Cheap and Cheerful ‘ Section in the eating our category of the Little Miss Bali App.
I do like to day dream and I kind of imagine this place is what heaven might be like. Kayuputi at the The St. Regis Bali Resort is just perfect in every sense and I could not have asked for a better place to celebrate my 40th Birthday. This 4 time Wine Spectator Award winning fine dining restaurant offers the most wondrous brunch your mind can imagine. Every Sunday serving Asian inspired haute cuisine with an opulent yet inviting atmosphere. This sea side Brunch includes complimentary aperitif and champagne or juice in the bar from 11 – 12 noon. The actual brunch runs from 12 – 3. For 1.100 000Rup Per person and Beverage packages from 995.00 per person inclusive of champagne, world class premium wines, cocktails digestives and cigars ( it’s worth it) . Seating is limited and a reservation is a must. Approximately 20 courses of the most visually exquisite and tastebud pleasing dishes are presented at your table. You can order off of the sensational al la cart menu also. Don’t be put off if you have not heard of or can’t pronounce half of the menu, I couldn’t either, however I can reassure you it was all amazing. Pace yourself as you may just explode if you try the lot. I loved it when the manager greeted us and provided a rundown of how this brunch works, I apologised for my husband who was enjoying the “huge, pumping, swell and would join us soon” Harold commented “his loss “as the staff handed me the most delicious champagne ever and I thought to myself, this is not your average brunch buffet no no no. Harold explained we can just wave anything away that we didn’t want as it was offered at our table, however my eager gang was willing to try the lot. These angels in white (highly professional wait people) just subtly appear in front of you, with some of the courses being prepared at the table with a theatrical like visual display. The caviar, the tuna, the beef was all sublime, however my favourite part was ‘The Bounty” a coconut sorbet with dark chocolate. I was totally spoilt with a huge bunch of stunning roses and also totally embarrassed as all the staff sang to “Happy Birthday” to me. Even the toilets are stunning in this place and I did take my phone in to sneak a shot of the waterfall just for you guys. Oh and I almost forget to mention your children aged 4 and up can be safely minded in the Child Learning Centre for the duration of this experience. Start Saving now as this experience is a MUST DO if you are in Bali. http://www.kayuputirestaurant.com/sunday-brunch.

When you get to Gili T and if you are after some excellent food, great tunes and a beachside hang out, then from the main jetty, turn left and walk perhaps 800 meters and just past Villa Ombak you will find the Pearl Beach Lounge. You can choose to sit absolute ocean front, or across the road you will find a the pool with the waterfall and swim up bar. Such a soothing place. If you swim out the drop off ( be careful of the currents you will find the most beautiful reef and we saw 2 sea turtles and loads of beautiful tropical fish. We enjoyed burgers, a chicken sandwich and the best scallops with green chili. An awesome place to spend a few hours. You can stream their music through the website check it out ! http://pearlbeachlounge.com/

I was just scooting along, minding my own business when I found this little oasis of tranquility. Warung Hotei is the cutest little vietnamese/ thai fusion place, with fast wifi and great food. You can sit in the garden out the back or in the restaurant and enjoy the breeze. Head on in there soon, its on Jl. Umalas 1 Kerobokan, Just behind Sardine.
It would be such a shame to visit Bali and not enjoy some of the sensational local street food. I can totally appreciate that this can be somewhat risky with all advice suggesting the contrary. However, I do encourage those with a strong tummy and a sense of adventure to try it out. This post comes with a disclaimer however that I take no responsbility for any outcome ( well perhaps a little if you enjoy the food ) after consuming Bali street food. Nasi bungkus simply means takeaway rice, or wrapped food for on the go. You will see all the locals grabbing a Nasi campur ( a mixture of rice/ noodles , vegtables, curried fish, chilli chicken, tofu and usually some kind of an egg also.) usually wrapped in a banana leaf and a waxy type of paper. You simply choose white or yellow rice, then point and indicate how much you would like of each dish, the more you eat the more you pay, and off you go to enjoy. Beware some of the chili dishes are deliciously HOT ! My fave is the Ayam Pedas (chili chicken). When choosing a good warung or street food vendor, pick the most popular one ( the one with the most locals), eat early so the food is freshest (midday is good) , and ask the locals for recommendations on their favourites. Even if the stall adds on a little tourist tax it will still be the cheapest meal you have had for ages with a bottle of water the meal will be around the 30 000 IR price mark.
So this place seems to blend some really cool elements to create an excellent vibe. Thai fusion food, board shaping, bike rebuilds, a half pipe, great quality clothing but what actually blows my mind is that Wolfmother played in their courtyard. WOW. http://deustemple.com/deus-x-wolfmother/
Not the best recording but I think you get the idea xxx
I really love Sea Circus on Jl. Kaya Ayu [Oberoi Rd] in Seminyak, I find it really versatile in that its beautiful for breakfast, lunch, tapas’ and dinner, or even just for ice cream or coffee. They do really good cocktails also and throw the most amazing parties and functions. It has one of the most famous bathrooms on the island with many patrons stopping to take a selfy ( a photo of oneself with your own phone) in the beautiful mirror. I love to pop in after a massage with Ifa at Bodyworks and a spot of shopping at Mist or The Bali Boat Shed.
Make sure you pop in on if your close by I promise you will keep coming back. xxx
